NOTE: WHEN I STARTED RESIDENCIAS LOS JARDINES, I STARTED WRITING A WEEKLY NEWS LETTER—DEETERMINED TO TELL ALL THE GOOD, BAD, AND THE UGLY. I KNEW SOME READERS WERE INTERESTED IN THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS. OTHERS WERE INTERESTED IN HAVING INSIGHT TO THE LIFESTYLE OF TWO PEOPLE WHO HAD DECIDED TO LIVE OUTSIDE THE BOX. FOR OTHERS, THE ADVENTURES OF LITA, THE PARROT AND THE CAT TOOK ON AN ENTERTAINMENT SAGA ALL ITS OWN.
RESIDENCIAS LOR JARDINES IS FINISHED. WE PERIODICALLY HAVE RESALES AND RENTAL AVAILABILTY. SOME READERS MAY BE INTERESTED IN THIS INFORMATION.
MORE AND MORE, THE CONTENT WILL BE DOMINATED BY EVENTS OF OUR NEW PROJECT, “EL DORADO” FOR SHORT. WHILE THE FUTURE IS ALWAYS UNCERTAIN, I AGAIN AIM TO TELL IT LIKE IT HAPPENS—THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY, AND THAT IS WHAT FOLLOWS:
The STORY: El Dorado: rain and mud
Pictures: nothing - mud is not exciting
CONSTRUCTION
Architect: he's beginning to deliver the product but
is behind on the schedule set. He doesn't make all the
changes the first or sometimes even the 2nd. time so
this continues to be a drawn out process.
Quebrada: We've completed the installation of the
concrete culvert and have diverted the water to now
run through it. We've continue to receive fill
dirt-probably around 300 truck loads and need an
estimated 500 more. If the rains would ever stop, we
could begin moving that dirt into place and covering
the culvert and leveling out the quebrada. I had to
laugh when I say the Municipalidad de Santa Ana dump
truck pulling out of our gate. I guess they, along
with others, have dirt they have to get rid of and
rather than paying to dump it, they find places like
us to dispose of it.
Fence: We've nearly completed this section of the fence. We will begin on new sections next week...
Web site: This is under development and we have decided to use the following domain name: www.eldoradocostarica.com
Marketing: We have redone our logo.. The marketing
/ sales manager we hired expressed what I felt and in
discussion with Paul, he too agreed that what we had
chosen wasn't that great. Now we have several choices
we're all actively happy with. We will be moving
forward on Monday to finalize graphics arrangements
and will integrate this with the website development.
RESIDENCIAS LOS JARDINES
For Sale / for Lease: nothing for sale and beginning Oct. 1, unit 121 is available for lease.
Satellite TV: DISH continues to change the codes regularly but...
The access road is a mess and has been all week and
will continue to be for weeks to come. The developer
beyond us is putting in rain water and black water
drainage pipes. The rain hasn't helped him either.
Rainwater Drainage: We experienced a small flood on
Wednesday. While we have fixed most of these
problems, we have at least this one yet to work on.
We are making a modification and will then wait to see
if it works.
Gardener: One of our three quit. We're looking for a
new one. Three referrals failed to show for
interviews and I'm not impressed with the one
candidate we have. We've posted notices around and
are awaiting a replies.
OUR LIVES
Weather: mostly beautiful ,clear mornings with usually heavy rains in the afternoons. On Wednesday, we had one of the heaviest rains yet.
Dental work: I'm in the process of getting a crown —$270.
Brian, Lita, Hairless Hugo, irreverent Vicka, the
pigeon toed parrot, and the newbies- Chico and Chica.
