The Story: The BIG move.
CONSTRUCTION
Weather: sunny with virtually no rain.
Units 101: This unit is now done including,
draperies and decorations; we're living in it as of

work well for us.
Unit 102: Focus has now turned to this final unit. It
should be finished in about three weeks.
Lockers: mostly done and the exterior landscaping is
in progress.
Electrical System Upgrade: More signatures, more
waiting, more waiting, nothing yet works.

Internet: working fine
Next Project
Pictures, text, and aerial photographs
are posted on my website. We have purchased 2 - 40 ft. shipping containers
which will be located on-site this coming week. These
will be used for storage and a construction office. We
will begin transferring surplus construction materials
from Los Jardines to Rio Oro. The containers will be
located such that we can span the distance to create
covered storage / work area. We will begin clearing
the small underbrush as the work force becomes freed
up from Los Jardines.
OUR LIVES
We began moving in on Wednesday. The remaining work
was finished on Thursday and the curtains hung -My
sister arrived later that evening. It was definitely
a push but it was done. I'm amazed at how much we got
accomplished in such a short time. Virtually
everything was done-not all completely (the dishwasher
is yet to be purchased and the hose for the clothes
washer was not long enough) -decorated, semi organized,
furnished, etc. From the time the slab was poured to
our move in, was 10 weeks-2 1/2 months. We have some
furniture being made which will take another couple
weeks but we have substitute stuff that works for now.
After removing two large palm trees and relocating
them to the new property, we ended up with quite a
decent view.. We unboxed some things we bought in
Nicaragua. The double sided water fountain will be
installed in a week or so. We have so many windows we
have very little wall space for pictures and
decorations
The crew is taking a well deserved rest for Saturday,
Monday and Tuesday. We pushed them to work two
holidays so now we've combined them for a long
holiday. Everyone was / is happy with that
arrangement and we are as well as we can relax a bit.
Lita got her bathroom and bedroom as she wanted. It
looks good. She's now picking her curtains. Hugo has
moved so many times he is pretty blasé about it and
seems to have settled in quite well. He's learning to
use his private cat door to come and go as he wants.
My hammock works great and I've actually tested it
out. The parrot flew off and that caused a fright in
Lita but my sister and Lita fixed that for the next
little while.
The next couple of quiet days will be spent in sorting
and organizing closets and kitchen -and I'm going to
check out the hammock.
Brian, Lita, Hugo and irreverent Vicka, the pigeon
toed parrot.
