The Story: landscaping / more of the same
construction / new beginnings advance (?).
CONSTRUCTION:
Weather: It's been perfectly sunny and delightful
the entire week.
Unit 106: Unit 106 B is now finished and occupied.
106 D should be finished before by the end of next
week.
106 C should be finished just in time for the owner's
arrival Jan. 13..
The workers felt we should have a tiled area in front
of the staircase. They made it and like many of their
ideas, it was right. They also put their own little
CR brand on the cement bollards.
Units 121, 122, and 123:
121: the ground floor walls-- interior and exterior --
have been parged. The welders concentrated on
finishing up bits and pieces elsewhere; no work was
done to advance the 2nd. floor.
122 and 123: The exterior boarding is virtually
finished and the interior boarding of 122 is nearly
finished. The clay roof tiles were installed on both.
Units 117-120: These units continue to advance as
manpower is available.
Units 101 and 102: No further progress on these; the
shoemaker is still shoeless.
Happy Workers: The work crew continued singing all
week. We had nearly a full crew-about 45 or so. I
expect fewer next week but still enough to advance the
critical units.
Landscape lighting: We're taking a breather until
the landscaping catches up and some of the
construction gets clear of the areas.
Electrical System Up grade: I'm now told that the
new transformer will be here on Jan. 2; I don't
believe it but .. I'm still not convinced I'm not
getting scammed..
Storage Lockers: We have agreement to proceed; we
haven't had the manpower to devote to this.
Roadway: All the quotes are now in; paving will
probably be done by Jan. 15.
Marketing: The six people from Florida (see "Next
Project") continue to review the documents and have
reaffirmed their intention to proceed on the purchase
and on our next project.
The deposit for 117 is on it's way to my bank and the
agreement has been signed and returned. This unit is
sold.
Next Project
I did a financial analysis of the 9
acre property located near Piedades had a further
discussion with the owner on Friday noon. She and
her family are thinking; I expect they will visit Los
Jardines this week and there is likely to be further
discussions. I could not justify their asking price
based on my research; they may not have done as much
research or as vendors, are more hopeful than I think
they should be. We'll see.

The feasibility study I've commissioned is
on-going; I'm awaiting the results. Useful Websites on Costa Rica

OUR LIVES
I continue to be weeks behind in paperwork and
personal disorganization continues to reigns supreme.
There will be hell to pay when I try to figure it all
out.
Christmas parties are in full swing; unfortunately,
they all seem to be happening at the same time ..
We are looking forward to the arrival of friends the
day after Christmas, another on Dec. 31, and another
on Jan. 3 and another later in January. We also have
one of our purchaser friends arriving on Jan. 13-he's
a great, happy guy who floats along, makes great
drinks and fantastic West Indian curries. He'll have
a new kitchen and a huge covered terrace to enjoy it
on. Canuck got hit by a car on Friday; Not badly hurt,
just more bruises and bumps to an old body and one
less tooth.
Brian, Lita, Hugo and irreverent Vicka, the pigeon
toed parrot.
