Waiting & Slow Times--Possible Sale RLJ

» NOTES

When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly news letter —determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.

Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have resales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.

More and more, the content will be dominated by events of our new project, "El Dorado" for short. While the future is always uncertain, I again aim to tell it like it happens —the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that is what follows.

In an effort to make the format more interesting and visually appealing and to field inquiries re. El Dorado, the news letter is now being distributed by Jan Kozak, Marketing Manager, Hacienda El Dorado. I will remain the author.

»MARKETING & SALES

Conversations:  some interesting conversations have developed this week which are on-going.  We'll see.

» CONSTRUCTION LOG

Water: the design work continued

Black water Treatment Plant:  The engineer responsible for this is also working on the detailed layout, location and the mechanical drawings.  We expect this information to be required by the Min. of Salud (Health).

Erosion Abatement:  this work was completed; we are waiting for the rains before planting bamboo and grass.

» RESIDENCIAS LOS JARDINES

Social Group:  A number of the people who constitute  one of the social groups are away for various reasons; and the Texas Hold-em games are suspended.  In the mean time, another social group based on similar work models are picking up the pace.

Rentals: May 25, Unit 124 and Unit 112 mid May.

Sales: The sale of 108 creeps along as the purchasers work with their 401K trust company to complete the information.  We've agreed on all the important details but have to sort out the paperwork for their retirement fund.  The discussion re. 107 has finished;  in the end, it seemed that the would be purchaser didn't have any money and hadn't done the math--but he was a doctor of something.

» OUR LIVES

Weather: The rains have not yet come but clouds form some days and clear, sunny others.  the last few nights have seen strong winds again; days are usually fairly quiet.

Villalobos case:  I attended the office of the Civil Defense  for Victims and signed two papers.  On one I had to have my passport number corrected.  I asked what happens now and was told that a decision is expected in June / July re. something.  Then a wait of about another year before anything more is expected to happen. This started in 2003--why would I think it would be resolved in this decade?......
