WAITING FOR INVU & GRANADA

» NOTES

IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THIS NEWSLETTER IN THE FUTURE, PLEASE, MAKE SURE TO JOIN GOOGLE GROUPS! SEE MORE INFORMATION BELOW.

When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly news letter —determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.

Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have resales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.

More and more, the content will be dominated by events of our new project, "El Dorado" for short. While the future is always uncertain, I again aim to tell it like it happens —the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that is what follows.

In an effort to make the format more interesting and visually appealing and to field inquiries re. El Dorado, the news letter is now being distributed by Jan Kozak, Marketing Manager, Hacienda El Dorado. I will remain the author.

Weather:  We continue to have a dry "rainy" season.

VILLALOBOS --I've submitted my bank account to the government office as requested.  They say the actual distribution will occur in about a month.  I'm not yet spending it......when I get it, I get it but they fat lady hasn't yet sung!

Dim Sum-Don Wang's: This was a disaster!!  The food was o.k. but we had a bad experience.  After  six of us had pigged out on dim sum, the waitress insisted we had ordered a complete meal for seven.  There is NO WAY we did this;  the meal was actually on a menu we did NOT look at. Why this happened we were left to wonder....we left never to return again.

Granada:  We're here with two other couples.  We have been here a number of times but the two couples we are with, are newbies.  We haven't done all the tourist things before so this time, we will do some things we haven't done.  Granada is moderately active but not full by any means.  The hotel we are staying at is hosting the CR karate team which is here for a tournament. Saturday midday we did the island tour on Lake Cocibilca / Lake Nicaragua.  Very nice, very interesting, and a great place to lay back and enjoy a boat ride.

Upon arrival at our hotel--a place where we have stayed for 5 years and know the owner and management, there was a lot of confusion between greetings, hugs, well wishes, bags, paying the cabbie, looking after Lita and the newbies, etc., that my computer did not get pulled from the trunk of the cab.  I realized this about 5 min. after  the cabbie left.  No one knew the driver.  The night manager took me to a busy street corner, put the word out that we were looking for a guy who looked like .........  waited, he showed up, and when he popped the trunk, there was my computer.  He did not know it had been left behind...the large baggage had been taken, the roadway/trunk was dark, my bag had fallen on it side, etc....we retrieved it and thanked the cabbie and the night manager--who we had brought three shirts and three pants--he's a BIG guy and these were leftovers from some tenant much larger than I.  So it's a case where one hand washed the other and I was certainly relieved and humbled by the  whole event.

Brian, Lita, Hugo, irreverent Vicka, the pigeon toed parrot, and the newbies — Chico and Chica.
