INVU Update, Sales, Granada!!

» NOTES

When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly news letter —determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.

Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have resales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.

More and more, the content will be dominated by events of our new project, "El Dorado" for short. While the future is always uncertain, I again aim to tell it like it happens —the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that is what follows.

In an effort to make the format more interesting and visually appealing and to field inquiries re. El Dorado, the news letter is now being distributed by Jan Kozak, Marketing Manager, Hacienda El Dorado. I will remain the author.

INVU:  We have INVU and Min. of Health approval.  We are waiting on AyA approval.  They have been the slowpoke of the whole process so who knows when that will happen.  We have made all the changes they requested so there should be no problem but this is Costa Rica so I've learned not to expect anything except the unexpected.

Marketing:  Our client is still working with the architect to modify one of our floor plans to their needs.

Website:  I haven't started making the changes.

Costa Rica's first woman president

The literacy rate stands at 96 percent, it abolished its army in 1949, it is considered the greenest country in the world, it plans to be the first carbon-neutral country by 2021, and 23 percent of the country is designated as a protected conservation site. Today it can add another unique designation, as it put aside gender barriers to elect a female president.

» OUR LIVES

Weather:  Warm and wonderful with mostly sunny skies. Granada is it's normally hot self....

Residency: I was told that the lawyer was to go to Immigration on Friday and get our application number. I don't know if this happened......if it did , Great.....  I'll follow up next week when we return from Granada..

Granada:  On Thursday, we took what might be our last forced exit trip to Granada. This time we took the Trans-Nica "Executive" bus and stayed at a different hotel. The "Executive" bus differs in that there is substantially more leg room and they serve a lunch and soft drink as well as coffee and cookies. It's well worth the extra $10 per person RT. The bus is the same but the extra leg room and the leg rests make a nice difference.  The lunch was prepared in a restaurant--they phoned ahead and told them the number and when we would arrive....  The lunch was hot and actually, quite satisfactory.

In Granada, we are staying at the Hotel con Corazon. Other friends have stayed there before so we were familiar with it. It is more expensive than the Hotel Cocibolca but it includes a full breakfast--virtually anything you would want for breakfast--larger rooms than the Cocibolca, better beds, hot water and better lighting. The hotel also has a restaurant and a bar. It's a nice step up and we are enjoying it.
