WIND + Lita's Big "60"

Brian Timmons, Newsletter Author
Brian Timmons

Dear friends,

When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly news letter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.

Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have resales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.

More and more, the content will be dominated by events of our new project, "El Dorado" for short. While the future is always uncertain, I again aim to tell it like it happens -the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that is what follows.

Residencias Los Jardines
Property Management, Rentals, Re-Sales

Market Activity: --

Sales: One person seriously interested; an offer and counter offer occurred on one of the units; the Purchaser and the Seller are still apart a bit on price... we'll see.

Rentals: Several looking and one long term lease signed for a unit not yet on the market.

INTERNET Woes: We're still up and running without problems. I'm cautiously optimistic we've solved the problem.

WORK PROGRAMS: The major hedge trimming is now completed; minor repairs are being done before returning to the larger projects --re-landscaping-- some issue have to be resolved before this goes ahead and re-paving a section of parking. An issue developed re. trucking off the garden waste; From a claim of 18 loads it got quickly reduced to 8 loads which got further reduced to 6 loads and a new system. If the hauler doesn't like it, we'll change.

Our Lives

WEATHER: The winds continued this week but towards the end, they've backed off.

LITA'S BIRTHDAY: Friday was a milestone birthday for Lita (60 years old and looking fantastic) and the 27th anniversary of our meeting... the rest is history... how could we ever have envisioned the events between then and our current situation. Plan as much as you can, but Life and opportunities will take you on adventures never contemplated... and in some cases, events over which you have no, absolutely no control or power to influence...

Round Trip Airfares --Toronto-San Jose-- $199 March 22 and 29 on Canjet or Air Transat... this is a great deal... $2 for the seat ant $197 for taxes...

Marble Polishing: Our water has a lot of silica in it -tasteless and harmless. It spots when it dries and leaves deposits which are very difficult to remove--I've never found anything to effectively deal with it. Overtime, these deposits become really annoying and have to be dealt with. We're doing that today... having a hand polisher and fine abrasive applied to the worst areas.

A Plan: The hammock, a cigar and a sip of rum sometimes allows one to develop a plan -and I did that Friday night... it will take a year or so to implement and may not happen but having a plan is, in this case, a good thing...
