Dear friends,

When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly newsletter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.

Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have re-sales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.

Our Lives

Weather: Beautiful, normal, sunny, 25 degrees, cool evenings, gentle breeze... wow... loving it

Tough Sledding: Collecting is becoming more and more of a problem.​ While I am working late payers down from eight to three, it has been tough, tough, tough... One guy was legit... the others, I don't know and don't really care. I am not running a a welfare camp, drop out center, halfway house, rehab or anything like it... I offer a good product with a contract in which the terms and conditions are clearly spelled out for both parties... I expect both parties to respect it... when they don't, I advise of deficiencies and remedies, and when it becomes obvious that the other party is not interested in respecting the terms and conditions, then I intercede... the Internet and Cable TV went off last week, and the water this morning... I will help him pack and wish him well when he exits the gate...

Dead Tenant: Not mine but a fellow landlord. In this case, a 20's something Am. kid ODed; his girlfriend found him. My friend has to work with the authorities and parents sorting out things and it hasn't been easy. I might have taken a different approach than my friend to make life easier for me but each to our own... I don't want to own these types of problems... I want to put them behind me as fast a possible.

District 4: Got the info together for that property and my support person in Argentina put it all together for me and it is now posted. Send a PDF file to agents for them to use in marketing. Have had one half hearted response... at least I know the inquiry feedback loop is working.

Mortgage payments: I am working on those as well. Penalties rack up pretty fast... I don't want penalty fees but if the borrower is stupid enough to incur them, then let him pay. Not my job to carry the box of Kleenex and diapers.

Perhaps you can tell: I'm a little over extended on empathy these days... my reservoir is empty.You can take on everyone elses problems if you allow yourself... it usually doesn't work out -they either got themselves into problems via bad decisions or circumstances beyond their control... now, both elements are out of my control so I am not interested in taking on their messes...

Friends from Montreal are in town escaping the brutal Canadian winter and wine club tomorrow... and the hammock later today.
